I've made art ever since the first time I dipped a big thick brush into a pot of bright colour and was excited by the marks I could make.
Eventually, after working in Education for many years, I was able to study painting, printmaking, life drawing and photography at Hereford College of Art. Later I joined a printmaking group at Sidney Nolan Trust near Presteigne, Powys and my prints were all made either there or at home.
Inspiration comes from dramatic seascapes, changing seasons on the hills, gardens, or even old working steam engines. I love to be by the sea or out walking with drawing materials, paint and a camera. Back in the studio the sketches and photos are referred to for finished work, often a series of pictures on the same theme.
